Implants
A permanent and beautiful solution to a missing tooth or teeth.
What is a dental implant?
A dental implant involves surgically inserting a titanium post into the jawbone to emulate a tooth root. This allows us to attach a crown (prosthetic tooth) to the implant – restoring your missing tooth and permanently giving you a root to attach any replacement crowns to in the future.
Dental implant or bridge?
An implant is a great choice if you are missing a tooth or you have a damaged tooth which needs to be extracted. While you may also be a candidate for a typical dental bridge, an implant is a longer term solution that has many benefits. One benefit is that is is less noticeable than a bridge – in fact when done correctly, you shouldn’t be able to notice it at all.
What if I am missing several teeth?
No problem. Implants can be used to replace individual teeth (with crowns), a few teeth (with bridges) or whole dentitions (using dentures and full arch bridgework).
Any Surgical or Invasive procedure carries risks, before proceeding you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.
