Crowns & Bridges

Missing or damaged teeth don’t need to be a stressful situation. We’ll determine the best solution for your circumstances and return your smile to its former glory!

I have a missing tooth. What is the process of repair?

A missing tooth can be replaced by inserting a porcelain bridge. The bridge is connected to teeth either side of your missing tooth. The process involves filing down the two neighbouring teeth and attaching dental crowns, then a bridge can be rigidly attached to the crowns seamlessly. Your other options are dental implant replacements, or removable partial dentures. When you schedule a consultation with us we will review each of these options with you to find out which is the best treatment for you.

I have a damaged tooth. What is the process of repair?

Crowns are full-coverage restorations that are used to cover a tooth that is likely to break or is too damaged to be corrected with a traditional filling. If your damaged tooth has a healthy root, you may be a good candidate for a dental crown. A crown is made from porcelain, ceramic or metal and is placed over the top of your existing tooth. Your dentist will file down your damaged tooth to a smaller size so that the crown can sit comfortably on top – you won’t be able to feel a difference and it will look just like your natural teeth.

How long will it last?

As a general rule, both crowns and bridges last between 7-15 years, however they can last longer with excellent care and regular check-ups. Your dentist will be sure to give you a number of options suited to your budget and desired outcome.
